Information for Therapists and Referring Clinicians

Collaborative psychiatric medication consultation while psychotherapy and other clinical care continue.

I work collaboratively with therapists and other clinicians and welcome referrals for psychiatric medication consultation. My role is medication evaluation and management, while psychotherapy and the rest of your patient’s care stay in place.

This is especially helpful when treatment questions have become complicated, when therapy alone has not brought sufficient improvement, or when medication decisions intersect with pregnancy, postpartum care, childhood development, or prior treatment complexity.

I regularly accept referrals from:

  • OB/GYNs and Midwives, Reproductive Endocrinologists, and IVF clinics

  • School counselors, child study teams

  • Pediatricians and Primary Care Providers

  • Therapists, psychologists, and other mental health clinicians

Common Triggers For Referral

  • Medication evaluation or adjustment

  • Depression or anxiety not improving sufficiently with therapy alone

  • ADHD medication consultation

  • Child or adolescent psychiatric medication evaluation

  • Pregnancy, postpartum, or breastfeeding medication questions

  • Pre-conception psychiatric medication consultation

  • Infertility / IVF-related psychiatric medication questions

  • Review of complex treatment histories or multiple prior medication trials

  • Patient facing major medical issues

Why I may be a particularly useful referral

I combine a psychiatric prescribing practice with the added perspective of a certified nurse midwife, which makes me an unusually strong referral option for patients whose psychiatric care intersects with pregnancy, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, or reproductive planning. I see patients in NJ, NY, and MD.

I also treat children, adolescents, and adults more broadly, so I can be a useful referral resource across life stages.

My clinical style is measured, collaborative, and oriented toward clarifying complicated treatment decisions.
