Getting the medication
you need shouldn’t be
a jumbled mess.

The process of finding effective mental health medication care can feel like getting tangled in a knot. You try pulling one thread – adjust a medication, address a symptom, follow a new plan – but something else tightens. Diagnoses shift. Medications bring side effects. Different providers offer different answers. Before long, what was meant to help is part of the problem.

My mission is to help you feel like yourself again by carefully untangling what isn’t working. I practice integrative psychiatry, bringing together a deep understanding of both mental health and whole-body medicine. With advanced training that spans psychiatric medication care and physical health, I take a more complete view of what’s driving your symptoms.

The result is more precise prescribing, thoughtful dosing, and streamlined treatment that supports both your mind and your body, so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

How I untangle medication management

I named my practice Sensible Psych Meds because too often patients walk in with a jumbled list of medications—some inappropriate, some counterproductive, and some with side effects so severe they need to be mitigated with yet more medications.

My work is to untangle that.

I take a careful, thoughtful approach—testing, inquiring, and applying clinical judgment shaped by more than three decades of experience. Most importantly, I team with you to uncover the root cause of the issue, then treat it with safe, sensible medication at the lowest effective dose

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner—Board Certified (PMHNP-BC), with additional certification and decades of experience as a nurse midwife (CNM), I bring a perspective that integrates psychiatric care with a deep understanding of physiology, hormones, and whole-body health. I also bring advanced training in trauma recovery, treatment of addictions, childhood through college age mental health regulation, and, of course, integrative mental health.

My goal is to bring you real relief without undue complexity.

Is Sensible Psych Meds right for you—or your child?

My integrated approach is a strong fit if you or your child:

  • Feel stuck despite treatment — you’ve tried medications or therapy, but things still aren’t quite working

  • Suspect underlying physical or biological factors haven’t been fully considered

  • Are navigating hormonal or developmental changes affecting mood, focus, or behavior

  • Are dealing with medication complexity — multiple prescriptions, side effects, or uncertainty about what’s helping

  • Seem especially sensitive to medications and need a careful, physiology-informed approach

  • Prefer a more measured, “less is more” approach to medication — using the minimum necessary to achieve meaningful results

  • Are open to addressing lifestyle and whole-body factors to improve mental clarity and reduce reliance on medication

My Specialties

  • Perinatal mental health — informed by dual certification in midwifery and psychiatry, with deep experience supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum

  • Children and adolescents — providing developmentally-informed care for younger patients, in collaboration with parents, therapists, and schools

  • Adults across the lifespan — including both men and women, from young adulthood through later life

  • Mental health in the context of medical illness — supporting individuals navigating chronic or complex health conditions, with an integrated understanding of both physical and psychological factors

  • Common and complex conditions — including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, with advanced training in trauma recovery and addiction treatment
